Moving 4 - Our New Condo

Taking off from my last post about Moving on August 18, 2015, we are finally settled in to our new condo. Hanging pictures really helps in making a place feel like it’s going to be home.

One corner of the living room is now my family wedding picture place. I have five generations of wedding photos of Shepheard men. Interestingly I have very few wedding photos of couples from other ancestral surnames that could be hung here. The few that do exist are in the photo albums.

The Wedding Corner
There is a sixth picture on the wall which is actually a set of paper cutouts of my 2nd great-grandparents supposedly done, according to a note on the back, at the time of their wedding in Warwickshire. So that makes six generations of wedding pictures on the wall.

It’s really neat to see Shepheard men of about the same age – mid 20s – all together. Among many things, we all share the same eyes and high forehead. You can tell we are related. Luckily for my son, he also inherited his mother’s great personality.

Wayne Shepheard is a volunteer with the Online Parish Clerk program in England, handling four parishes in Devon, England. He has published a number of articles about various aspects of genealogy and is a past Editor of Chinook, the quarterly journal of the Alberta Family Histories Society. Wayne also provides genealogical consulting services through his business, Family History Facilitated
